All the best DJ's are saving

Andrea and Derek's Chi-town wedding marked the end of a busy and fabulous 2010 Wedding season for Type A Images. It was the perfect send off for 2010 with new places to shoot and a great group of people as subjects.
Andrea and Derek live just a stone's throw away from Wrigley...I cannot IMAGINE how nuts their neighborhood gets during a ball game. So, after their ceremony at St. Mary's of the Lake in Chicago it was an absolute must to quickly hit up Wrigley Field. Now, I am not a Cub fan....need to make that PERFECTLY clear here...the Brewers are my home team and I have my loyalties....but I have to admit the "Chicago-centric" nature of Wrigley is just really neat to use as a back-drop. So much history there (but we still have a roof that opens and closes....so we win).
From Wrigley we headed to Millennium Park. I've never been to this notable area either...and it was a photographer's dream, let me tell you (evidenced by the OTHER wedding photographers there vying for spots). It was PACKED....and on the way in the bustling downtown traffic we even made time to be involved in a hit-and-run accident. Through no fault of our bus driver, mind you. This dude hit US.....and then proceeded to take off and run a red light. So, Chicago people, if you see a red Volvo with scrapes down the side and front-end damage....that just may be our guy : )
Andrea and Derek's reception was held at the Dank Haus ...and I was really excited to find that Kristin from Toast & Jam was DJ'ing...they are one of my favorite DJ groups and Kristin had previous worked with me at Mysi and Craig's wedding from 2009...so it was nice to see her again!
The night was full of fun, fabulous music, and some massively cool dancing. I'm so glad such a fun group helped me close out a great season. Thank you Andrea and Derek! I hope you had an amazing night and enjoy your sneak peek!!
Andrea is a girl after my own heart....Chucks are the best shoes ever. In fact, I'm toying with the idea of wearing Chucks to weddings all next season and just making it my "thing" : )
Look at that smile......
I have never seen anyone use vinyl records as a guest book, and it's one of those ideas that you see and say to yourself "Ohhh...I wish I would have thought of that!!!" Very cool.
This completely cracked me up..... :) Who knew the Pope made a record?
Now, you know those kind of movies where there is a dance scene and people dancing just seem to instinctively KNOW the dance everyone is doing....and suddenly it's a "dance number". I've always watched those scenes and said "Uh...yeah! right! Like they all KNEW the dance...."
Ok, these two....they KNEW the dance....it was awesome...they had their own choreographed dance routine. Awesome-ness.
