I normally try to mix up locations, especially with back to back shoots, but Beckman Mill has family connections for my inlaws...plus its hard to beat this place for versatility and beauty in the Beloit area.

So, today we headed over to the Mill again, this time for a fun fall/family shoot with my mother and father-in-law Jim and Jan and the infamous Betty Claire. Betty was a bit punchy, coming off a weekend of parties and candy, but settled down for a few shots at least.

It was a bit chilly, and we didn't get any of that warm sun wash I normally seek out, but I think they turned out wonderfully given the kind of cruddy weather we had to work with.

It seems to be the week of "blasts from the past"...first my family sitting last week with fellow Brother Dutton alum Bob and family, then at yesterday's WPPI there was ANOTHER photographer from Brother Dutton, and today a sitting with 5 sisters and their family that all also attended Brother Dutton.

I met with the Henning family @ Beckman Mill to get some shots before a family wedding this weekend. I'm hoping we still have plenty of warm, lovely days like this left because it just makes for great shooting and atmosphere all around. Beckman Mill was made for photos!

Oh, the light was lovely tonight.
The bright orange light spilling over Beckman Mill.
The light cutting through the sunflowers in South Beloit.
The red and blue lights of the cop who pulled me over on my way home.

Yes...the lights...lovely.

And yes, I got pulled over. Again.

*sigh*

Anywhoo, tonight we shot Mariah's senior session and it went fabulously! Beautiful evening light and hitting up a local field of sunflowers....couldn't ask for more!
