"Knight" Before Thanksgiving | Beloit Family Photographer

Ok, so it's a cheesy title...I'm allowed a bit of cheesiness sometimes!

I met with the Knight family at Beloit College today...and we struck out in the freezing weather (was it NOT 66-some degrees just 2 days ago?!) to get some fun family shots.

I've done sittings with Maurion and his wife Kami (and their little one Nolia) a few times and this time we got Maurion's whole family together. And they are naturals, let me tell ya....some people just KNOW what to do when a camera is on them. I am not one of those people...but the camera loves this whole family. Makes my job easy!

We made a stop by the family's church for a quick outfit change and some more shots as well. I hope you guys have a great Thanksgiving and enjoy your sneak peek!

All I have to say is, what did I do before OCF? Solves all sorts of funky lighting issues. Like dark ceilings with no bounce-ability.

The title of this blog is oh so appropriate...because it's EXACTLY what I said when I got Mike and Jessie's wedding invite in the mail last April.

Well, first I said "Wow...that's a REALLY elaborate April Fool's Joke!" (probably should have picked a different day for those to arrive in our mailboxes)

Then, after confirming that the two were actually getting married I said "Well...it's about time!"

Mike is my husband's cousin and he's been with Jessie since high school. He turns 30 this year, so that will give you some idea of the length of their courtship. The two will be married in April 2011 in Mexico and then have a hometown celebration for all of those who can't make it to the beach nuptials.

We chose Beloit College for their engagement session. Jessie is a former student and the campus is pretty lovely this time of year. We were working around a bridal party AND groups of awkward teens gearing up for tonight's homecoming dance (all accompanied by their moms snapping photos...oh so cute).

The family is SO happy for you guys and I cannot WAIT for the party next summer. Enjoy the sneak peek!

It's always fun to shoot people you know, and throw meeting new family on top of it and it makes for a nice sitting.

Tonight I "shot" my husbands' Uncle and Aunt and their kids and grandkids, who are in town for a big family reunion.

We took everyone over to the Beloit College Campus and took advantage of some of their lush lawns, pretty poetry garden, and Anthropology Museum building.

It was so nice meeting everyone, and I hope the big reunion goes well on Saturday!
