Klode Park has been one of my most popular destinations for family/kid shoots this season. In fact, I think the past three family shoots I've done in Milwaukee have taken place there. I fully understand why: it's beautiful, serene, in a great area of Whitefish Bay, and has beach PLUS grass.
The also have man-eating sand flies.
I visited the area tonight to shoot Jarrott, Stephanie, and their daughters Regan and Kennedy. We took the normal route down to the beach and it's like someone sent a message to all these nasty little sand flies that "Hey! There's a pregnant lady coming! And she's wearing a SKIRT! Let's GET HER!"
They were on me like I was sand-fly buffett. Jarrott said she got a few bites, but I was being downright MAULED.
So, despite the sand-fly epidemic that seems to be taking over the Klode Park area, we got in some great shots for the family. Kennedy seemed much more open to having her picture taken this time, and Regan is as easy-going as they come. They seemed to come away from the shoot unscathed, which is a plus. Apparently the flies were only really interested in me!
Had a great time, can't wait to see you guys in November! Enjoy the sneak peek!
