I'll Tumble For Ya | Milwaukee Family Photographer

I'll tumble for ya, I'll tumble for you
- Culture Club

So, there are a few things that go hand in hand with having an infant: drool, babble, and bumps on the head. It's bound to happen....but let me just put it on record that I'm not much a fan of it happening during my photo sessions!

Poor little Cole got his first good noggin bump during our sitting today when he took a bit of a spill off of the window seat we had perched him on......scaring the bejebus out of me (and I'm sure his parents) in the process!

Thankfully after some ice and cuddles he was fine and good to go....save for a bit of a bruise on his melon, a keepsake from the sitting!

The rest of the sitting went off without a hitch. We hit up Lake Park for a bit, braving the cold and getting some good outdoor shots for the family.

I hope Cole is recovering well, and I hope you enjoy the sneak peek Fuchs Family! : ) Next time I promise...no window seats!

The Old Apartment | Milwaukee Engagement Photographer

Broke into the old apartment
This is where we used to live
- Barenaked Ladies

Kristin and Stephen had prepared for a fall engagement session: sweaters....alma mater sweatshirts...fall leaves....a visit to a calm, quiet beach area surrounded by fall sun and leaves....
Only to be met by 80 degree weather and folks sunbathing on the beach...in October...in Wisconsin.

Can't complain, though! It was GORGEOUS.

The couple wanted to hit up their old digs at the Astor Hotel in Milwaukee to kick off their engagement session. Both Kristin and Stephen lived there and it not only has an old-school charm that I love, but an awesome view of the hazy city from the rooftop terrace.

We also hit up Bradford Beach (which did, indeed, have sunbathers.....in OCTOBER), Lake Park, and County Clare restaurant across the street from the Astor.

For the end of our session, Kristin and Stephen decided to get dressed up, which just THRILLED me to death....like Stephen said, it wasn't too long ago that people really got decked out to hit the town and it's kind of nice to pay homage to those days, even if they don't happen all too often. They looked pretty sharp, if you ask me : )

I hope you guys enjoy your sneak peek and I look forward to shooting your wedding next year!

Rooftop views and fancy duds.

Hope this hotel resident didn't mind being used as a "prop" : )

This is what I get when I say "okay kiss!" *snap snap snap*....and then say "Do it again!" without realizing they're still kissing. "Oh, okay...you're on that I see.....well...continue!" Seems the best way to get a laugh out of my couples is to be a complete airhead! Whatever works!
How stinkin' CUTE are these two?

*sigh* Lovely, late afternoon hazy light on top of the world. LOVE.

Charmed. | Milwaukee Family Photographer.

They say the "third times a charm". Well...here's hopin! After two postponements due to freak thunderstorms, I was finally able to join Lisa and her family at Lake Park for a fun, relaxed family sitting. And I came away with only one mosquito bite! Victory!

I had done a shoot with this family last summer when Claire was just a bitty baby and Noah was not nearly as eager to be photographed as he was today. I had a little shoot director on my hands! He came up with ideas and even invited me to dinner when the shoot was over (had to take a raincheck on that one, but the sentiment was nice!)

We shot at the lovely Lake Park and had some great magic hour light to use. I hope the wait was worthwhile!

Enjoy the sneak peek!

Little gifts.

How sweet are Claire's piggies? Love.
